What even is Admin?

When you're close to something it's hard to see the whole picture, and when you're running a business it can be hard to know what people don't understand. When we describe what we do in our business the first thing I normally say is: We take care of your admin, so that you don't have to. However, in a networking meeting recently I was asked... What even is admin?!

At first I was stumped. It's something I do every day, something we all do every day, in both our personal and professional roles... So, why couldn't I answer?

I think the reason it is so hard to narrow down what admin is is partially due to the fact there is so much it encompasses! So here are a few administrative tasks we can do for you:

1) Emails Sorting your inbox so you can focus on priority emails rather than being pulled in a million directions.

2) Paperwork Organising your projects through traffic light system spreadsheets or running totals means you can see how your projects are running at a glance. Are you up to date with your accounts and filing? Where do you keep a record of your clients or potential contacts. All admin tasks!

3) Social Media Scheduling your posts? Creating your copy? Making the right image? All admin!

and so much more...

Really your business administration is any non-billable hours! So that's anything that you don't charge a client or get paid to do. Any of these other additional things you do behind the scenes of your business to give your clients the best experience possible can be outsourced.

I hope this helps to clarify what we mean by admin. The things that you already do for your business that you don't get paid for. If you were being paid for those hours... how much does your potential earning increase? Is it worth holding onto your non-billable admin?
