On Friday 12th July, our award-winning virtual assistant team were invited to attend the West Midlands PA Awards at The National Conference Centre, Birmingham, hosted by The PA Forum. Virtual Diamond were finalists for Team of the Year and we were thrilled! Even though we didn't win it this year (and lost to the fantastic Coventry University, Business Admin and Support Team), we were so proud of our team and for even becoming finalists.
It was a spectacular Gatsby themed night, surrounded by so many hard-working executive and business support individuals in the industry!
What are the PA Awards?
The PA Forum hosts the PA awards and it was founded by Daniel Skermer in 2016. At the time, there weren't many events (if any!) celebrating Executive and Personal Assistants. The awards recognise the incredible talent and achievements of those working in an Executive or Business Support Roles over the past 12 months with awards events in both the West and East Midlands.
Why did our award-winning virtual assistant team make it to finalists for Team of the Year?
Well, apart from our team (the most important piece), there are a few reasons. Our founder, Paddy, has worked hard to create a company in which the people are the most important part; an environment of understanding and care that resonates through the team.
We take pride in our place as a long-standing (10 year) award-winning VA company and so we love to support up and coming VAs as they're first starting out - we love offering advice and a place to ask questions to help others, too.
Our community is really important to us, too. We support local charities and physically contribute. Paddy and Beth are volunteer Scout and Cub leaders in our local scout troops.
Congratulations to the Winners of Team of the Year
The winners in our category were the Executive Support Officers, Coventry City Council. The judges said:
"There was a clear strong ethos from within the team and the panel were very impressed with their collective work surrounding CSR and Sustainability initiative and their involvement with community engagement by supporting the elderly, working with domestic abuse survivors and through environmental clean-up projects"
This just goes to show the impact that the Personal Assistant and Virtual Assistant communities can have when we work together as a team! A huge congratulations.
